Dr Jacqueline Meredith is a Lecturer at Swinburne Law School. Her teaching and research interests lie primarily in the fields of employment/labour law, work health and safety law, and tort law.

She has published in top-ranked academic journals, primarily in the areas of labour law and medical law and ethics. In addition, Jacqueline has co-authored a book on the intersection of law and technology, and a textbook on work health and safety law in Australia. She has over eight years' experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate law students, including in the areas of tort law, work health and safety law, and legal research.

Jacqueline completed her PhD in Law at the University of Melbourne. Her doctoral research examined various statutory employment nexus tests which draw a divide between work and non-work across different areas of labour law. Her research also considered the theoretical and normative basis for properly distinguishing between work-related and private conduct.

Jacqueline has a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from the University of Oxford where she studied as an Oxford-Australia Scholar. She graduated from the BCL (LLM equivalent) with Distinction and a Law Faculty Prize. Jacqueline also holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours and University Medal in Law) from the University of Newcastle (AU). Prior to undertaking postgraduate study, Jacqueline worked as a Judge’s Associate in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
