Rowan’s current work brings together research, experimentation and partnership to explore how universities can respond to technological, social and economic change. Her approach combines futures thinking, human-centred design and evidence-based experimentation, with a strong emphasis on moving promising ideas into sustainable institutional practice. She has led major initiatives in digital learning, microcredentials, employability education and industry-engaged curriculum, including the development of the University of Melbourne’s first major microcredential ecosystem and cross-university online programs that reached more than 10,000 students. She has also worked with universities, government and organisations in Australia and internationally on leadership, organisational culture, workforce capability and new models of lifelong learning.
