I am a researcher and program leader with more than 20 years’ experience across health, education, government and community sectors, with a strong focus on equity and improving systems and services for populations whose perspectives are often underrepresented. A significant focus of my current research is working in partnership with Aboriginal Elders, health professionals, communities and health services to improve how health services listen and respond to First Nations people. I am particularly interested in research that moves beyond identifying inequity to understanding what can be changed in practice. I enjoy working at the intersection of research, policy and implementation — bringing together community knowledge, lived experience and evidence to develop practical approaches to complex problems. My approach is collaborative, relational and strongly grounded in the principle that the people most affected by research and policy should have a meaningful role in shaping them.
